Amazing idea! I am thinking about making my own server and I want the community to be very strong and If I find a way to pull this off I think the community will be amazing. May I ask how the information is so accurate? Did the players submit them and then have staff review and make sure they were correct?Towny wars. It exists, haha. I find it a lot more interesting than factions, especially the aesthetic that most servers have from it. I've only known 1-2 that have it, and one of them has executed it beautifully. It's an old server, its been around for a couple years and on their site was something pretty interesting. They had a wiki where players would contribute to and document every war and conflict.
It's literally an entire history textbook. You can learn about the oldest nations that started near the server's first launch and go through all of it's past conflicts and wars. It was absolutely beautiful to a niche player like me. Even my own small town was included in it's pages after being pillaged by one of the largest nations. Large scale wars are going on between dozens of huge nations, and somewhere lost in those pages, I was apart of it. If done right- even if it is very niche- creating something so unique like that again would be incredible, but quite difficult. It's a much different experience once you get invested into it, get yourself into conflict or just make some deals with some of the most influential players on the board, and you'll gradually get yourself into the politics of it. The politics and economy of it all was something only the players themselves would create, but if you do want to pull it off, best of luck to you.
The server I'm talking about is Civilization Wars. (heres the iconic wiki) The playerbase is pretty small now but it was really at its best in it's earlier years 2013-2014.

I want to create a warm and strong community with my server just like how the server you played on left you with those memories!Looks familiar.
If you hadn't named the server i'd say that that desc fits CivCraft, which also was an epic server. It wasn't towny type one but a realistic survival server. I guess at its core did seem to have some of the towny implementations but yeah.. Good servers, good memories..
Don't we all want this for our servers?I want to create a warm and strong community with my server just like how the server you played on left you with those memories!
It's very community based, you'll come across a lot of players that want to record everything in detail and with accuracy, these are your most valuable and influential players. Most of the larger powers like Florence or Vekta have had easily a population of a hundred players each so many were available to experience the conflicts that the nations underwent throughout it's lifetime themselves. Not only were there several players to tell their experiences and contribute to the wiki, there were a few players that were dedicated to recording these in it's most accurate and non bias form, true historians they were.Amazing idea! Krythax I'd also be interested in helping out. I knew the Civilization Wars server inside and out, and now that it's on a decline after its lifetime of 5 years, I'd love to see something new.If you do this idea PM me I'd be more than happy to help out. There could be different seasons, all based on different empires in history and different civilizations maybe?

Yes, most want this, some servers are out there to make a quick profit and sell.Don't we all want this for our servers?
Irk, that is the aim of course.. Every server that i had/have/made, is like my baby to me![]()
I think that would fall more into the RPG category and that's not my thing, sorry! You could probably do a really cool Civ V style "nations" thing, if that's what you want to go for.
No it is not.I think that would fall more into the RPG category and that's not my thing, sorry!
