Trade in or sell?

I'd like to get a new phone but I'm not sure what to do. I currently have the iPhone 8 and I'm looking to get the XR. Would it be better to trade the phone in or to try to sell it on ebay?

iPhone 8:
- 256GB
- 1.5-2 years old
- Great condition (no damage or issues)

Personally, if I was you, I'd get the iPhone 6S+.

It has an aux port and is bigger than the iPhone 8. (6S+ is 6.23 x 3.07 x 0.29 inches while 8 is 5.45 x 2.65 x 0.29 inches) It is also cheaper. (8 is $450 with Verizon while the 6S+ is $150 at Walmart.)

I've had my 6S+ for multiple years, I love it and I don't plan on upgrading ever.
