Trading Feedback Removal Poll

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

This suggestion revolves up to the second part of this thread (http://www.mc-market.org/threads/82324/) by our lovely StudioBeat, there are a few more points I'd like to address and actually add a poll to see where this goes.

What is this?​

Recently we added a new trading feedback/reviewing system. You may leave reviews of your experience on other member's profiles. This is separated into three categories (Positive, Neutral, and Negative) and will show anywhere else you comment or post.

The sole purpose for the system is to add the correct meaning of "Rep" or "Reputation", this determining if you are trustworthy to deal with or such. Upon looking at the system for a few days I have found quite a few issues with it, all categorized below in a simple 1-2-3 scenario:


1. Fake/Trolling Reviews
Let's face it, we always have that one hater who just wants to get back to you for no apparent reason. We have incidents of members giving off fake ratings, or trashing threads, now they get the right to trash your reputation over a dilemma that happened a whole month ago? God, please no M6...

Solution: Report the fake review, and wait for a moderator/administrator to handle it.


2. "Cheap"/"Chipped" Reviews
This goes under the talk of: "Hey! What do you say we exchange some quick reviews, after all it benefits us both!"
When you haven't exactly used the service you are reviewing for. See the problem is, when a buyer sees that you have clean reviews and he/she decides to purchase to find out you aren't as godly as your reviews are - It actually shows that these "friends" who reviewed you without even using the service are desperate and trust me karma will hit you hard.


3. Scam Reports
So it's fair with this reviewing system, it'll have an effect on the whole market. This involves my assigned category, "Scam Reports". It's sad to see I already have a moderation queue of comments such as - "He has 7 positive reviews, and no negatives. M6 this guy wouldn't scam him cmon", like is this what humanity has become?

My favorite sentence: You can scam, I can scam, that guy in the corner can scam on anyone, anytime, for any reason, anything - It honestly doesn't matter. Reviews/Feedback/Ratings might rock your world, but in the world of Scam Reports, it holds no value whatsoever.

So what shall we do?​

Now as many say, "Ratings are not Reputation". And infact, you are correct it doesn't mean anything. Yet what is Reputation to me?
- The clean ratings given on a shop or service along with the comments full of the correct reviews/feedback OF the service under that section making it accessible to your use.

Basically meaning, there should be a sorted change on any thread or business of having more straight to the point reviews when you are actually looking for a team or individual to hire. I know many include that small spoiler with the "Vouches" and it shows all the quoted reviews on that service.

Obviously we could revamp the forums a bit, and it could make the marketing shops a lot more clean and sweet.

Upon thinking about this whole topic, it brings in mind of how eBay pulls of sales. When you purchase an item, that's when you are allowed to write a review yet how are we supposed to know you purchased from someone else on here? Instead, I think this review/feedback system should be simplified down to an update for resources.

AFTER purchasing a resource, you will be allowed to write a review/rate it. Myiume - Tagging you so you can see this as well.

So this leaves us at our standpoint, obviously the resource revamp is just an idea of mine. Yet, I believe a system like that will be far more better than a general rating system for the whole market.

Should we remove the Trading Feedback/Review System?

Make a team that verifies the purchase, before posting on a feedback thread. It will eliminate those retards who just dislike ur feedback for no reason.... cough cough 30760

Why add something we already have? These forum rates are the same exact thing as the trading rates.

This system gives people to "rate" and vouch. I had a suggestion to make the vouching better, but M6Gaming clearly told it off.

Remove it. It's just a popularity contest, for those that abuse.

But this system is just as easy to fake as the writing on profile method.

It should be removed unless MC-Market can be like ebay. and not allow reviews unless there is a sale

+1 remove it. Because I already got 1 fake review. lol!

My opinion:

Ajdin What the hell were you guys thinking with this system? You really think it's not going to be abused? The only legitimate way to do this is for all feedback to directly reference a thread with proof that you were the buyer, or integrate it into an on-site marketplace system which only allows you to leave feedback AFTER completing a successful trade and lasting until the moment of chargeback or other dispute.

Otherwise, it's not a fair system.

Edit to what I said, this system is a complete joke, just as expected. I don't know what the hell you were thinking.

What's really shameful is that you need to make a thread about this. This shows two things:

1. How staff do not have a full say in matters, especially "scam report staff". You should've had a say in the situation and therefore this thread shouldn't have been created. Things are obviously not thought out and discussed, because I'd hope at least one staff member has brain cells to not fuck this up
2. Why on earth do you need to make a public thread to change this? It also displays how weak and uncoordinated the staff are

Both points do not reflect your incompetence, but the incompetence of the system itself. I guess you're the only logical person around that sees how shitty this system is.
