So Mick has already expressed that he didn't want us suggesting members on the site for staff and that " All staff are hand picked by current staff " But why not give some extremely reputable members a chance? We have seen the abundant amount of scam reports and now the scammers are going for round 2, Why wait to make a change? Let's put a stop to it now.

* Trial Scam Resolvers are not paid until they are promoted to Scam Resolver Or As said by Capaldi get paid, Because they are doing free work.
* They get around 30-80 scam reports to see if they are fit
* Volunteer to gain trust

Maybe this will work, Maybe not but we know as of right now, M6Gaming and Lion are doing ape shit. What does the community think?

I agree, but I think that rather than just picking random people who have a high amount of rep, take say the top 10 or so people with the most rep, ask if they would like to be a "trial scam resolver" and then if they say yes add them to a community vote or something. IMO no point having hated members of the community who we all know give out free steam keys in return for rep getting some form of staff.

For now, I think Justis is doing a fantastic job of them but at the same time we do need a permanent solution to what will be a permanent problem.

Why are you bidding on your own post? Kappa

Do you know how long it takes for Chat Mods to be promoted? A really long time. Scam Resolver is a much bigger role because it involves
  1. Having to go through every report, reading all of it
  2. If there's little to no evidence, maybe the SR will request to see more and maybe, just maybe, they'll tell you what you need
  3. When it is up for the public, they have to read, even skimming, through the comments to see if someone posted something relevant to the Scam Report and who knows how many shitposts are in that section
  4. They have to read the OP's reply, as well as the person who is being reported and not all replies, are short, some are long and detailed. That will take time
It doesn't sound like much when you're being paid, but when you are expected to do all of that without payment, it's going to feel like a lot of work. People should be getting paid for their work, not having to work free until they are promoted to the same role with the same things they have to do but actually getting paid this time around.

Understood, This was just kinda the basis of it all.[DOUBLEPOST=1523913481][/DOUBLEPOST]

They shouldn’t pick people based on reputation. This is only relevant for you and nine other people. Nobody else would get the chance.

They should pick staff based on their qualities, maturity, and other factors similar.

They should pick staff based on their qualities.

Right obviously, But having REP brings trust in the community which yes does help.

It is obvious that something needs to be done about the amount of people able to sort through scam reports. On a site that I visit to spend money with people and services, hearing that scam reports are 2 weeks to a month behind is deterring. Meanwhile the person that scammed you has the opportunity to run around scamming as many people as they can in that 2 weeks to a month.

Part of that problem is not everyone is looking at the scam reports because 1. they can't until it is approved and 2. because there is a ton of them. If employing more staff to sort through the mess is on the agenda, what about opening it up so that everyone can view all reports and then people spending money can make informed decisions? Even if it was just the title of the scam report that I could see, I would think twice about paying that individual.

Well put Eclipse. I don't want to promote people to try scam reports because of the huge importance that every single scam report has. Thousands of dollars is scammed each month, I don't want to give the duty of distinguishing scams to users who I don't have reason to believe are fit for the job.

Maybe for other staffing duties we could try people out where there aren't high stakes, but dealing with real money through scam reports isn't something that everyone is able to do.

We're never going to decide on who should be staff based on rep either.

Denied, thanks for the suggestion.
