Its all fun and games to any of you anti-Trumpers and they don't care since their side isn't bearing this censorship, however if the sides were flipped, you guys would be complaining too. This is a slippery slope to greater censorship and suppression of more people. I don't see how anyone could possibly see how this ends well. When the people don't have an ability to express their opinions peacefully, the only way to do it is through violence. I do not support violence, I am only saying this is what will happen when this censorship will be let loose and rampant for the next 4 years, because lets be honest, Biden is not going to make this any better.
Damn right. He broke multiple rules, so obvs he needs to be banned :/It's not censorship, it's Twitter's platform.. the guy broke multiple rules and they let him get away with it since he's the president, but enough is enough. He literally incited violence and is more than likely the main reason why the capital was rushed yesterday.
You can make non-invasive legislation to protect free speech on platforms. There is an existing law called Section 230 that gives sites like Twitter, Facebook, etc legal protections from being sued for what users do on their site and also recognizes them as platforms not publishers. It also grants them permission to moderate on the basis of good-faith.Seeing conservatives abandon small-goverment beliefs by pushing more government restrictions and oversight on private companies like twitter and fb because they aren't on their side is honestly making my year.

There is the argument to make that by censoring speech and deleting certain content, they are acting as a publisher of sorts rather than a platform. Publishers don't get the same type of protections as a legal platform, and I am not saying they should be classified as one, but we need to update the law to still protect platforms, but at the same time protect people's rights to speech. So this law arguably needs amended (added onto, not replaced) to also protect free and political speech online as a clause within the bill. This wouldn't be obtrusive and doesn't require invasive governmental control of the sites, that is just an excuse they give to not have that be amended.
