On another site I was a moderator on for a time, there was a feature that didn't allow users to use the word moderator in their personal title thing. I'm not sure if there's a similar feature on here but if not, I'd like one implemented. This filter should include the word trusted because it is misleading and leads to

This filter should retroactively affect any users with a current title including the word trusted. Comment other words/phrases that should also be forbidden.

If you disagree, leave a comment why.

This is a very good idea, people take advantage of this and add "Trusted" into their title and use it to scam very easily, as new members don't know its customizable.
A simple 'agree' would suffice.

I'm not sure how much significance the title has itself in terms of whether deals are done or not but it's a valid point. In the end, a user should decide if someone is trusted or not based on their profile and what they view as trusted.

It's extremely misleading. If i didn't know better like many new members, I would believe that was a status set by staff which would indicate their endorsement. If somebody has all greens on their profile and trusted under their profile picture, wouldn't you believe they were trustworthy and be encouraged to go first?

A solution could be to alert the user it's a custom set tag and nothing serious by a message when hovering over the title. Either way, you never really know if or when someone just decides to f*ck all and scam, no matter how reputable they are. Your suggestion could indeed tackle this issue but in a small and possibly, useless way. I agree though.

Words that imply that the user is trusted should be blocked.
Am very stupid and I don’t know words other then trusted, so trusted should be blocked

Reverse psychology: A person who has trusted in their name should be a red flag, whereas someone who doesn't may be more trustworthy (those who have a custom tag)?

Either way, I'm with Kram that it wouldn't make a difference. Anyone can exit scam, anyone can scam. Yes for things like "moderator", which impersonates staff, that's reasonable, but not for "trusted". I see your frustration though, but I think it could go down any which way, regardless of title.

It might not seem like it’ll make a big difference, but it can be very misleading and even if it only prevents 5 scams, it’s still worth it because those 5 people aren’t being scammed.

How about banning not only from titles but everywhere and add trusted badges for people that are eligible for it for example.
people that have done over 100 confirmed deals (not using rep cuz ban evaders rep farm that shit and then exit scam)
This might be a good idea, but I don't think that 100 confirmed deals is nearly enough of a requirement. This should be a very select few group of people and be a system that's manually decided/chosen by staff. (similar to how some other forums do it)

"Trusted" shouldn't exist, no matter how recommended you are by staff or how much rep/deals you've done you can still exit scam like everyone else. I could sit here and do 1000 deals that are over 30k (obviously exaggerated) and scam out for a piddly $100 (many users have done this).

There's no way to say that you're more trusted over someone else, even on other forums that use "Trusted" (given by the owner/admins), these users abuse this tag and scam out crazy amounts because they can.

Yes, people should do their own research but I think many of you forget that the average age of users on here is 11 and many people cannot make that judgement call for themselves and need as much support as possible.

Well, it may make a difference but a slight one. And even a slight difference is important when it comes to scamming the way I look at it. Some users may not even notice a title but for others that might just be the first thing they see. It really depends on the user and to protect the users who don't know otherwise is important.

It appears as a staff set title and is allowing people to promote themselves as trusted without regard to whether or not they're actually trusted. New people can come and buy premium and set themselves as trusted or something and while it may not be a direct reason someone gets scammed, it could be a contributing factor.

We used to blacklist 'Trusted' and 'Official' from user titles but I removed it a year or two ago because I didn't see the reason we had it at the time since users can pick whatever they want, but I now agree with your point.

We should be blacklisting certain words from user titles. Does anyone have any suggestions about other words than 'Trusted', 'Official', 'Verified', 'Reputable'?
