Don't focus on "rep". focus on becoming a trustworthy person on the market. There's one thing about reputation, but another on what value that reputation holds.

Just find something you are good at then offer it for free, in return they may rep you. You can also buy things and they may rep you for being kind, trustworthy, etc.

Just keep doing deals without scamming and provide excellent service and you’ll be fine.
