Trying to make some money.

Hey MCM, so I'm not the sappy type. I personally don't enjoy getting too emotional or showing my emotions in public (typical cis white male), but I need some assistance. I owned a server in the past where we made quite a bit of money in donations. One user, decided to attempt to file a claim with PayPal saying that his donation was unauthorized, seeing that it happens and people's accounts get hacked all of the time, I decided to refund the user. A few days later I notice the same report is opened yet again. I'm now -82$ in my PayPal account and incapable of truly working as I'm visiting some family members. Now, you may ask why this matters to anybody, well I have quite a few talents that I would like to use to make a bit of money until my issue is resolved (about 3 days). The reason I need to make the money instead of await PayPal's system is because my 2 year anniversary is coming up and I want to buy my girlfriend a nice promise ring.

Areas of expertise:

Java Development (Nothing major please).

System Administration (basically anything, I've worked with WHMCS, Ptero, Multicraft, Cpanel and a ton of other software.)

Management (This will have to be part time but I'm very skilled at managing a staff team, I can also do buycraft management. If you hire me for your buycraft I will use methods to better encourage users to donate.

Writing (You need an application written for a server you like? I've got you covered.)

$160+ was taken from my account, paypal denied his original claim and he reclaimed it. I had also refunded him so he had managed to take a ton of money from me.

With court fees and all the legal work involved (even in something minor, like your case), you’re probably gonna lose a lot more than you’d gain.

16, and believe me, the chargeback was fraudulent and PayPal backs me on it. They said they will give full records to the court proving that the payments were not unauthorized.

Right, but legal fees are pretty costly. If PayPal sides with you, then wouldn’t the money be given to you and not the scammer?

The money was taken because they charged back from their bank, so PayPal had the money taken from their hands and I had it taken from mine. PayPal has already contacted the bank, as PayPal cancelled the claim he tried to make through them.

It will cost more money to go to court and get the guy, after its all said and done.

The amount I lost is greater than the amount I'd pay, also keep in mind this would also be suing for damages

Oof, never had that happen to me before.

Best of luck, but I strongly advise against escalating it to court as you’re gonna lose a fuck ton of money (unless you’re fine with it and just want to get the guy )
