Hello,

Recently I was scammed on an online game, my account which I have had since 2006 when I was a kid and this game was my first MMO was stolen from me. Tens of thousands of dollars, a lifetime of hours spent playing a game I love, all wiped out in a matter of minutes.

I am beyond devastated, I tried to get the account back, appealed to the person who stole it, their family, guild, even the community at large, but in the end, the account was banned by support.

I reacted to this in the only way I thought would get my feelings known, I registered a domain (<Userwhoscammedme>Scams.com) and set it up on a Wix site. However Wix charges a steep monthly and annual rate and I would like to avoid that.

I would like to turn that Wix site into a new custom site that does three things:

1.) Informs people about the person who scammed me, so they don’t fall for a similar scam by that same user

2.) Informs people of best practices when selling, buying, and trading online accounts and what things they can do to try and get help or recover an account if they fall victim to a scammer

3.) Offers a way for others to report scammers in my game and search to see if a person has been reported as a scammer

I can provide the Wix site as a template for what I created.

per 1.) I think this can all be on a single page. I would detail what happened, provide screenshots and proof, etc…

per 2.) I think this can be setup on like a wiki style page so it’s organized and useful to people

per 3.) I think a simple searchable list on the homepage of the website with a form to report a new scam or scammer, in the searchable list a button can be included to appeal a listing or request a change in the event someone is trying to submit false reports.

I think maybe a password protected internal page with tools to remove or edit listings would be needed.

Please reply to the post with a quote and your Discord, or message me here on the forum.

What if the user just... changes his username?
Then they just change their username I suppose, I think this is where informing people on how to avoid these scams in the first place comes into play. While changing you’re username is something people will do, I think even if it causes a scammer to have to take time to create a new identity even if it only takes them a little bit of time, is better than doing nothing and just letting scammers run free.

Do you know of a better way to go about this perhaps?

Personally, I'd drop it, I've been scammed for thousands. It's super upsetting what happened to you, but life goes on. You're living under his demand the entire time you pursue this. Work on yourself, work on improving yourself and getting your money back, then it's all up from there.
