Have one where it is labeled as "Reputation" this is where you could say that this guy is friendly or a nice guy or whatever else.

Then have another section for "Vouches" where people would write vouches about their deal with you.

Benefits of this

In theory, someone cant trash your rep by just leaving negative reputation. They could put i.e toxic user in the reputation section but not your vouches section.

I'd suggest that obviously Vouches > Reputation.

This is similar to another site.

I'll tell you now. Most people are going to disagree or this thread will ultimately be denied due to it being "too redundant or complicated" to introduce "multiple types of 'reputation'". I personally like the idea and want a system where I can just see the deal history to gauge the legitimateness of a seller, not a wall of how they're toxic or they're a kid because they don't understand whatever etc.

Yeah, the rep would just be for like "Toxic, super nice, time wasting, really helpful" type of comments. The Vouches, more important, are any deals you have actually done. Its also super easy to farm rep by giving people VCs and free accounts that cost next to nothing, so these vouches would prevent that.

I've seen so many people say this idea, yet I don't understand why as in the new reputation update, there's a spot to put what the user did to earn that reputation. If someone wants to know whether or not to deal with you, they'll take a look at your negative reputation and see that it says something like, "User is toxic, DNDW." This will show that you're good at deals, but your customer service is bad and that they should possibly stay away from you.

EDIT: A solution to all of this. I've never received a negative reputation. Why? I don't engage in trash talk or shit posting. If you don't interact with someone, they have no reason to give you a negative reputation. While this may not be the case in every situation, as you may be nice and they still are toxic, it helps 95% of the time.

Sometimes, its not even your fault. I remember I was selling something to a new member, and he refused to go first or use MM. I didn't sell it to him, and he neg repped me. I finally got it removed after like 2 months. Stuff like this happens. I agree people shouldn't get into it, but sometimes the large ego of the McM community can't be controlled so we have to compensate for it.

I completely understand. The thing is that staff will remove that reputation right away with valid proof. If a user wants to give you a negative reputation for such a petty reason, they wouldn't follow the reputation > vouches system anyway.
Yeah, when you look at it that way, it makes sense. Its just up to the staff in order to solve the disputes.

The only problem I have with this is my reputation is already on my threads and my profile page so it would suck having to start over to gain a larger number under that vouches section.
