Hey, guys.

As some of you may know, I am developing a RPG server core. I've always wanted to create a big minecraft RPG server. Something similar to Runescape, with leveling and skills. I already have coded a pretty big chunk of it, and it is currently in the state where i have to actually decide what style of a server it will be.

Basically i'd like to know what kind of a RPG server you guys would think is more fun to play.


Medieval RPG
(Mix between Runescape and Wynncraft)

There would be such skills as attack, strength, fishing, firemaking, cooking, woodcutting, etc. You would have to train skills in order to advance in combat or other activities. You would need to have a required level in order to fish for a specific fish, for example.



There would be many mobs running around with different levels.



To get armor, you would either have to obtain it through quests/shops or mine some ore, and use smithing skill in order to turn it into armor or a weapon.

There would be safezone everywhere, except wilderness. A big chunk of map where PVP will be allowed, you would lose everything if you die there. (P.S: Food is required in order to heal fast, there wouldn't be such thing as hunger)

And there would be quests for sure.



Post-Apocalyptic RPG
(Mix between Project Zomboid and Fallout)
You would spawn in a city, that has been infected by zombies. There would be different kinds of zombies and mutated mobs with different looks, sounds, and level.

This kind of server would have skills as well, but instead of just melee skills there would be skills for guns (accuracy for example). You would be able to buy/find/craft weapons.

Weapons would be similar to these, but with better sounds and quality.



There would be skills such as mining, firemaking, cooking and fishing. You would need to obtain food and water in order to survive.

There would be such things as supply chests, they would appear randomly with some nice loot.



Also quests, and some kind of base building system, so you would be able to store your precious supplies. The bases probably wouldn't be immortal, if i would add them then i would make them raidable by zombies/players for sure.

Farming in order to grow food.


You would be able to find NPCs hideouts, including NPC shops that would sell stuff, and NPCs that give you quests.

The city would be safe zone for the most part, except some hi-level locations with some extra-dangerous mobs.



BOTH servers would use a custom resource pack, to provide amazing experience.


So yeah, guys. This is the very very and very rough description of my 2 ideas.
Let me know what you like the most, and let me know why.
I might have forgot to mention some stuff, but oh well.




I personally would choose post-apocalyptic RPG, because I have never seen something like that in Minecraft.
