Yeah, was probably charged back. Check if the person who bought it for you is banned to confirm this.

Yeah he just got banned about 30 minutes ago.

That will be the reason why. He would have charged back and got banned himself but since it was a gift and wasn't your fault, you didn't get banned.

Or he got banned for some reason so the items he gifted were removed.
