This feature is where you can block someone from your thread using the Block button in which only Ultimate members can use this. This is mainly to block out haters and to stop people from giving your threads bad reputation and shit talk. They can view the thread just not reply to it, or maybe not even view it at all.

Button: Block
Layout
Username:
Reason for blocking
Time Until.

I've seen this happen to so many people and it's just so annoying now and there is nothing we can do with this. Please add it, not sure if this has been said before but would be good as it's so annoying when randoms hop in your thread talking shit.

Add it as an Ultimate or even Supreme Feature. Thanks

Not sure i agree with this one personally. It opens the door to mass censorship of people who may have well founded opinions about a user due to previous deals or experiences with them. Giving people the ability to censor all of this negative feedback could lead to people being unable to make an informed choice when looking to buy services. People without ultimate would suffer a lot as ultimate users would just block ANY bad criticism. Could go really badly unless heavily monitored which i dont think is an option either.

While it seems good imminently think about it for a second. Great, you can be lock out the shitposters. But what is someone is leaving a legitimate negative review? You could pre-block any user that you had a negative experience with.

Just report it if it violates the rules.

What if we had a 'Proof' part where you must provide proof on something they've done to you in the past? or where you can only block a maximum of 3-5 users on the thread?

That kinda fits better but proof would have to be monitored and you kight as well use the systems already in place

This suggestion sucks no offense because what if you are an actual scammer and somebody is trying to warn everybody then all you have to do is mute them from ur forum? that will make scamming easier.
Give the kid a bad rep?

How much we put a limit of 3 for blocking off threads or even 2.

Simply leave it on their reputation page where people SHOULD be reading/doing their research on a user before dealing with.

I like the OP's suggestion tbh. Keeps out people who would shitpost or try to make a fuss and avoid people from making duplicate threads to start fresh.

I guess you didn't really think about this. I strongly disagree with this because it can be easily abused to prevent people from leaving legitimate opinions on threads. If someone is shit-talking you or trashing a thread of yours, just use the report button and it'll get taken care of shortly (or open a support request for a likely higher punishment on the user). This feature will be abused by scammers and people who fake their appearance on this site to remove all negative views on them, even if they are valid. It's a good idea on paper, but it will be too heavily abused.

So vouching on a thread is ok, when it could be done through the reputation system. (Positive rep)
And de-vouching isn’t ok.

Vouching should also be on reputation page.

Completely agree. Once posted on reputation page, let them put the vouches in their signature, simple as it is.

So we should just preemptively lock out any user that we think *might* shitpost? This doesn’t make any sense.

I mean I think we should be able to block out people with Proof of what they've done? Their could be a 'Unblock' button for users to submit a request to be unblocked with proof of bad service or something.

Trying to anticipate when something bad might happen is much more difficult and has many downsides to our current system for this. If someone is shitposting on your thread and you would like it removed, simply report the content with your own proof and it can be removed from the thread. Introducing a new function to request an unblock is just a waste of staff time in my opinion, we already have enough disputes to deal with from reputation and scam reports.

Denied, thanks for the suggestion.
