Unauthorized chargebacks help - Family & Friends

As you know family and friends payment through PayPal is supposed to be safe. The only thing is, people can report it as unauthorized to chargeback.

I’m very concerned as I sell a fortnite service and items. Is there any way I can protect myself from this? Maybe something in the terms of service?

If I am not mistaken, PayPal generally won't accept an unauthorized purchase chargeback unless there is other evidence of tampering or changes to the account. But if they do manage to chargeback, you can dispute it by providing proof it was authorized.

Never dealt with F&F Chargebacks, but that is how I would assume it is best.

But technically if you make them say “this is me paying” then ignore it’s unauthorized it’s just the person who “stole” their acc?

I think I know what you mean here and if I do, PayPal will check login attempts on their account, their account security, and if there have been any suspicious activity on the account, to my knowledge just saying "I didn't buy this" isn't enough.

Ah okay. So it’s not easy to just report as unauthorized, they would need validated proof that it’s not them, correct?

If they are on a VPN your screwed right?

Yeah PayPal would need more evidence.

and no, PayPal can bypass most VPNs I would assume, considering Badlion could and they are a Minecraft network
