Unofficial MCM Server [Different than the others]

Although MANY previous "unofficial" mcm servers have been attempted, they are all missing one KEY feature. Being able to verify your MC-Market account to your Discord account in order to avoid impersonation, scamming, and other issues.

I'm suggesting, that with the power of a bot, to create an unofficial MC-M Discord that contains ONLY the following features:

• Basic chat channels
• A channel to report any banned members that are currently in the Discord server
• Some voice channels for interacting with other MC-M users.

I have already made the concept for the bot which can verify the users, without having to add any external API's to the site. In addition to this, it complies with all the rules involving external programs accessing the site (confirmed by some of the staff team)
An issue arises though, rule 1.21:

1.21 Do not discuss, link, or promote any external gangs or communities.

The Discord server can be thought as a discussion area for the MC-M community, nothing more, nothing less. There will be no ways of making a profit on the server, and no ranking system.
I would like to say this isn't an external community anyway because It's only users from MC-M, and they are forced to make an MC-M account if they want to use the Discord.

Please expand on any issues you have with the idea, I'm sure to think of a fix, and if you are staff that is going to shut it down, please explain how it is an external community.

I feel like this will be accepted. I think this has been the missing sort of blind spot for every other discord suggestion and this completely clears it up for mick and others on the site. Great suggestion

I feel like it won't, there will be another set of people who will have to regulate the discord server and we only just got re-staffed here.

Thats why it's unofficial, it's not maintained by Mick. The staffing is up to the management of the Discord.

For a start, it is unofficial. As I have seen time and time again, things that aren't official fail and this is no different imo.

No clue on the best way of phrasing it, but it doesn't feel right to be putting a community based around MCM in the hands of non-staff. It should be official and owned by Mick.

As for the rules, this would essentially mean adding something to rule 1.2.1 like this "except this rule does not apply to X". Either keep the rule or not.
