Updating part of a server setup, and selling it on

Hello folk,

Hypothetically, let say there is this (feature-packed) skyblock setup that hasn't been updated for a good 2 years or so. Would I be allowed to update (or re-create) let's say the custom ore generation, and then sell it on?

Note: The hypothetical setup doesn't have any exclusive Terms of Service/purchase

Well even though it doesn’t have any exclusive terms of service, as the customer you shouldn’t really sell it on, as some of the features inside this setup are technically not yours to sell which (if it happens) won’t hold up in a legal battle. Meaning you will have to pay the creator every single penny you made

honestly and I know I may sound generic, but just make one yourself to sell. Idk about other people but if someone did that to a resource I made I would see that as scummy & just a person who will probably be a hassle to deal with in the future. In this market reputation means a lot & having a reputation of basically updating a outdated resource and selling it on as your own will just make people question dealing with you, since they will question it for a lot less.

Check the MC-M rules though. I do think it says somewhere that someone needs to sell their own product or something along the sort.

Would it make any difference if I were to re-create (from scratch) the feature, rather than update it?
