User Discouragement

Hello MCM.
I used to develop and make xenforo sites, I want to let you know of the feature user discouragement (IP BAN) your able to ban people from signing up to the site if there were banned x amount of days ago you can set this to 99999 to stop them signing up, please enable this feature, this is how scammers are getting into the site.
If you have been scammed before you understand my frustration.

No because people who are banned are still able to sign up....

New accounts are IP checked as far as I know. They'd have to sign up with a VPN in order to get around that. Same thing goes with your suggestion.

They usually get caught when they access MCM without their VPN on accident and their IP matches up.

Let's say someone stills go to school and someone is banned on the school ip? They need to think about this stuff as well.

Pretty sure this is already a thing to some extent. New users can't just simply sign up on their existing IP. Most ban evaders use VPNs to access the site.

There is only 2 ways (as far as I know of) that people actually use to ban evade. (As there already is an IP checker)
1) Reset their IP
2) Use a VPN.
Both of these are not really possible to stop really, and that's what ban evaders do to not get caught.
(I mean VPN's can be detected & blocked, but there are some that can't be detected).

Some people have dynamic IPs so they can simply reset there router and evade the IP Ban, but they will get caught anyway.
