User Notes

Discord has a feature I find very helpful. When you click on a users profile, you can leave notes.

I use this frequently to note previous transactions with users, to log if they've committed an infractions against me or someone I know, or to put links to things I want to reference with them in the future.

A system similar to this may greatly benefit many users, such as myself, and allows for many possible functionality improvements going forward.

I’m not against the idea of per-user usernotes. I can think of a number of good uses for these.
Actually, in the past, I quite wanted the ability to leave private notes on threads as well. They’d be especially helpful for scam reports/support requests.

However, regarding "to log if they've committed an infractions against me or someone I know", I do want to encourage that everyone use the reputation system for this. If someone has done something that would make you want to remember not to trust them, then it almost certainly belongs in feedback form on their profile.

At the moment we aren't planning to do any more development for our site until we can migrate to XF2 since we'll have to rewrite everything then. Perhaps once we move to XF2 and have fixed all the bugs that come with that and have more time for some new development we can work on this, but for the moment this isn't something that we can justify the development for.
