One thing I've noticed from reporting abusive users in the chat is that I never know if anything is done about it, I recommend that you implement a system where after a moderator has reviewed the report than the user who had reported him should be notified of the outcome of the report as well as the moderators decision and any extra comments the moderator might have.

As someone who has handled too many chat reports to even begin estimating...

I can tell you that a great number, possibly a majority of them are made out of spite.
Users with beef with each, trying to continue a fight.
"This feking arsehole bish face called me a swear word, ban him!"

Which leads into my second point....
Without a doubt, a majority of the reports made are for things that aren't against the rules at all.
Again, either people with bad attitudes trying to take shots at another member, or people just being stupid.

Staff are the ones that decide whether a person is breaking the rules, I don't want to start getting messages from the reporters, saying "Yo! Why the fek didn't you punish this guy?? Explain yourself."
Or "Hey, thanks so much for punishing that arsehole."
Nor do I want the member who was reported getting messages, "Haha! I reported you and you got punished. Suck it."
Like seriously.

Mind your own business.
You should not need to know this.

That stuff is between the users and the staff members warning them.
I am not about to go into detail about what punishments a user is receiving.
If it's bad enough to where they received a warning point, you'll see it on their profile. So back off.

Most of the warnings I've given have been to people who made a simple misunderstanding, and I've never had a problem with them on those rules ever again.
I don't need members hounding me with "Hey! That's not fair! I got points for this before, why does he get off so easy?!!"
Again, mind your own business.

Also,
Just because you reported the person doesn't mean you get special privileges above other members to know all about what the staff members are saying to them.
We're not about to send alerts to everyone who attempted to click the report button on that person's message, with updates on how the user is being punished.
It's none of their business.
Let the staff do their jobs.
Don't worry about how severely the member is getting punished.

Thank you.
And no, you do not get alerts when the report has been handled.
