User on here saying he's pressing charges. Give me some better knowledge of what he's trying to say please.

A user is trying to say because he owns Skycraft.us which isn't even released or anything yet, that I have to remove my server because we're copyrighting him?

It's the same thing as naming your own soda brand Koke.

Yes, but you don't own the rights to SKYCRAFT. Just because you own a domain that says SKYCRAFT.US doesn't mean you own the rights to SKYCRAFT. Which means you can not press charges.

Ignore them, too many here act like they own real businesses.. the same thing as these so called "service teams".

Whacked Are you located in a different country to this person? If so, they will need an international trademark, which is harder to get.

Further, ask them where the trademark is registered, the registration number, specific links, etc.

There's something known as the Madrid System, which is an internationally recognized trademark database, recognized by 121 countries. It may be worth searching in that as well.

FYI: You should never take legal advice from an online forum if possible - talk to a solicitor if you're truly concerned.

Literally just ignore it lol 99.99% positive he can't even afford to take you to court as it is.
Im not supposed to take him to court, McM's TOS should do the work.

If it's the domain they are talking about, you should be fine. While legal action can be taken because of domains, a trademark is needed for the process to be won. I have checked trademark registers (US and international), and there are no trademark in a similar industry (unless you count a mobile game). There are no past recorded UDRP-claims for the name (http://www.udrpsearch.com/search?query=Skycraft&search=domain). Besides, an UDRP is quite expensive for the claimant (often many thousands of dollars), so I doubt a server owner will spend the time and money to actually do something. You're probably fine, don't worry. PM me if you need more info.

Kavish I cannot find any trademark in the Madrid System - would you mind sharing information about this trademark, as it should already be public information?

So, you think MCM gives a shit about your Minecraft server/domain legal issues? Not one bit.
Probably now that I'm thinking about it. If they can't resolve scam reports within a month, he can release his server by the time they see any forum of contact.

Pressing charges =/ opening a scam report.

Opening a scam report because someone has the same domain as your server will not get the other user banned- you weren't scammed.

If you were to legitimately press charges, I would question your intent as you most likely do not have your brand trademarked as you have failed to provide information stating that you do.

Please stop acting like a child.

Is it copyrighted? No? Then he can't do dick.
Names and ideas cannot be copyrighted - so that's completely irrelevant. Sorry to say :(

You should not be opening a scam report for such a thing, as for one, you've not been scammed in any way, shape or form (as already mentioned by Theo J).

The more appropriate form of communication would be via a support request, but we would be requesting evidence of said trademark, and that you have the authority to act on it.
