I never said that I said what is the point when you can just search for someone's name. And if your trying to link someone your profile you can literally just go to profile and link them it.

This offers more simplicity, that's about it.

Which would you prefer?

This offers more simplicity, that's about it.

Image not having to go to your page to link someone your name because you can easily remember it, or being able to search someones name without having to click 15 buttons and type in their name, imagine not having to hope that the user has posted before to find their account. There are many accounts that have never posted before thus the only way to find their account is hope they link you it or go to the shoutbox and @ their name.

Convenience is 90% of suggestions I think your idea is that this has little impact so it shouldn't be done but it takes little to no effort and really helps.

I only have to click one button to search someone's name, and 2 button's to get to there problem.

What if you don't have time to search? Point is, it saves time and is convenient.

Impossible due to people changing names and having names that contain only numbers.

Can greatly mess up MCM urls and will just take a lot of efforts to change the ID methods and it may ruin users with beautiful ID numbers

No it's not. There's a thing called URL encoding for a reason.

As I have said on a previous suggestion, we intend on implementing similar functionality to this for our Ultimate users in the future, allowing them to set their own vanity URL that redirects to their profile. This will be coming when we eventually update to XenForo 2 as there is already an existing addon that does this for us.
