I'm Oof, one of the owners of an upcoming server known as Valence. This server is oriented around PvP but we are trying to add twists that make our server stand out. Unlike other servers, we aim to make a server with minimal toxicity and a clean community for those who may not enjoy the level of toxicity seen elsewhere. We're still currently in the development process of our server but before we hire any other staff members, we want some Builders to join the team and help us create maps for some of our games before release. We're looking for custom maps only, and we want everything to be made just for the server. Something to keep in mind is that the server is not fully complete yet so it's not a fully functioning game server yet.
If you're interested in becoming a Builder, there are a few key traits we want each member of the team to have:
- Friendly personality: Someone who is polite and easy to talk to. Simply put, someone who can be nice to others.
- Work in a team: There may be times where you'll be working with others on certain projects such as maps and we will need you to be capable of working with others on a project. Being able to communicate and collaborate sufficiently is essential for this position.
- Good understanding of map design/gameplay: One of our biggest priorities with maps are that all maps we use to have good design and are good for gameplay. We don't want maps that are overly complex or confusing to follow. If you have experience playing other servers, you might be able to get an idea of what a map with good gameplay contains.

How Does it work becoming a Builder?
Possible recruits for the Build team will be given a "build trial". The way this trial works is that you will have to make a map for one of our game modes. After the map is done, we will judge it based on Creativity, Quality, and Gameplay. If your map meets our standards, you will become a Builder for the server. If not, we will give you a chance to improve with a different build but if that doesn't work out, a demotion is unfortunately the only answer.
Is Builder paid?
No, Builders on our server are not paid. We want our Builders to join the team and build based on their own interests of building for a server and their love for building, rather than just receiving money out of it. This may deter a lot of people from applying, but that's just how we do things. Even if you're a super good Builder, you will not be paid. We want all of our Builders to build out of interest and enjoyment of Building instead of requiring payment to stay on the team.
