Hello MCM!
I'm Oof, one of the owners of an upcoming server known as Valence. This server is oriented around PvP games but we are trying to add twists that make our server stand out. Unlike other servers, we aim to make a server with minimal toxicity and a clean community for those who may not enjoy the level of toxicity seen elsewhere. Another one of our biggest ideas is about transparency. We want everyone in our community to know what is happening with the server rather than being left in the dark and not knowing.
At the time of writing this thread, we are in need of some dedicated and active staff members to join our staff team to be ready upon release.
If you're interested in joining the team, here are a few important points to know:
- At the moment, we only need Moderators. However, that's not to say that you can't work your way up the staff rank ladder. We promote based off of hard work and dedication and positions aren't given out for free.
- Positions are not paid. If you come to us and ask for a payment, you'll be instantly rejected as we're looking for a volunteer staff team. We would rather our staff join the team in the interest of helping out by moderating the server instead of doing it just for money. That's just how we think.
What we expect from staff members:
- Should be active, preferably able to play a couple hours on the server a day (Currently, you can disregard this section as the server is still in development but there may be staff testings you should try and attend)
- Maturity. As a staff member, you're representing the Valence network and we want you to do so in a good light. It's alright to have fun but there's a border between having fun and being a little too immature. We want players to have good experiences with our staff team due to the fact that first impressions can be lasting ones.
- Capable of assisting players appropriately and good knowledge of Minecraft. You should be aware of how Valence works, including the necessary links and information about our games. Since our server is still in development, we're going to be lenient with knowledge as the server progresses but we still expect you to do your best to get to know our server. Secondly, you should be able to successfully enforce rules without a problem and be able to identify common types of hacks (If you're unsure, YouTube is always a good place to see what a certain hack looks like)
- This ties onto maturity, but we will hire any age applicants. So long as you can prove you are mature and have what it takes, then we will ignore your age. There are many people out there who are younger but can still fulfill basic staff duties, which is why we don't have strict requirements in place.

From there, message me (Tacking) and I will provide you the application format in which you will fill out and send back to me (Our bot's apply feature is not done yet so we're using the classic way for now). If your application meets our standards, we will carefully review you as an applicant and if you check out, you'll be accepted. However, in order to receive future promotions to spots such as Manager or even Admin, we require a voice interview.
