So i am tripping right now, what is the value to launch the player backwards, X or Z? This is bugging me out...

Depends which direction you're facing. So both & neither.

Imagine you're looking at the ground from above:

So if you're standing where the "(^_^)" is and are facing directly North, then Z would be axis to make you move forwards or backwards.

However, let's say you were facing directly East. Then you would be looking on the X-Axis. So to move forwards or backwards, you need to change your X-Axis. The Z-Axis would only make you go right or left.
