I added a $50 visa vanilla card to my paypal a few weeks ago to make a few purchases on a few servers and to buy a few things. After I was done I had about 9.45 dollars left on the card. I then went to a server(stay unnamed as of now) and bought a rank that costed exactly $5.45(the .45 paypal fee included) but when I was finished I wasn't taken to a completed purchase screen it just returned me to the shopping cart. I waited the normal time that the moderator said it would take for the purchase to go through(about 15-20 minutes) and I didn't receive the rank. The purchase didn't show up in my paypal recent activity but I got a notification saying
I then went back to the store to check if it was just the payment taking a long time to go through so I bought a crate key for 3 dollars. The payment went through and I received the item in game. After talking to the server owner he said the only payment that showed up was the crate key payment. But the money was still taken from my card. I know this because I couldn't purchase the rank again because I had insufficient funds.
Is there some way for me to get this money back or is it gone forever ? I've tried contacting paypal and they said they cant trace the payment. What should I do ?
On March 19, 2020, $5.45 USD was preauthorized for a purchase on your card xx-7982. If it isn’t completed or it’s completed for a different amount, any pending amounts will drop off, usually within a day.
