Vouch Rep being removed

A lot of people have been losing reputation recently, because if someone reports your reputation any reputation that says "Vouch" gets removed. I think this should not happen because when people leave rep they sometimes aren't straight to the point and say "Vouch cool dude, no problems." Instead of saying "Bought a account off him, I recommend them" This causes people to lose legitimate reputation, because of how the buyer left the rep. So I think reps that have "Vouch" in the beginning should not be removed, or give a message to people before they leave reputation.

PS: I personally have not lost rep to "Vouch" reps. But, I see people complaining in shout box because they lost 5-10 reputation overnight.

Honestly... sure, i've lost 5 - 10 rep due to vague rep, but you can always ask the user to edit the rep. It only takes like 30 seconds max

The reason why this isn't allowed at the moment is because saying "vouch" is because we have this rule:
9.1 Do not give reputation which is not relevant and informative. Example: “User is dumb” or “Vouch. Cool guy”.

The reputation system is there for you to give feedback on a user, and simply saying "vouch" isn't really feedback. If you want your rep to not be removed make it informative and relevant.

In the future I'd like to implement a minimum limit of 50 characters or something like that which would fix that problem.

Invalid reputation goes both ways, you know. if someone gives you a 'vouch' reputation instead of a detailed review, it's gonna get removed, because it's not valid (not constructive)

Yes thats my point, people leave you reps that say "Vouch" and they end up getting removed instead of just giving you a actual rep.

ah, ok. Misinterpreted it a bit, just woke up. So it's a way to prevent that? The 50 character minimum might help. Apart from that it's just gonna be educating that.

Asking for someone to leave positive reputation is not allowed, asking for someone to leave negative reputation is not allowed.
However.
Asking someone to edit their existing reputation is perfectly allowed.

If someone leaves you a reputation that violates our rules, you can message them and ask them to edit it to be rule abiding. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
This is what I do when someone gives me reputation for helping them or being a fair staff member.
I private message them with a thank you but let them know that they'll either need to edit it or I'll be forced to remove it.

With individual users being so capable of resolving their own problems, there's no logic reason why we should turn a blind eye to violations of the rule that prevents reputation from being completely worthless.

I have to ask every person who left me a rep that says "Vouch" which can be a pain in the ass. Especially when alot of people don't use MCM alot.

Which is why the asking should occur when they leave it.
Our rules on reputation haven't changed. Informationless "vouch" reputation being removed is not something new.

Trust me, it's as much of a pain in the ass for staff members to remove and message the people leaving the invalid rep; but we pull up our big boy/girl undergarments and do it anyway for every member of the site whose reputation is reported.
You can do the same for your own.
Or let it be removed.
Uninformative and or irrelevant reputation will always be disallowed.
