Pretty sure it has been sugggested before and denied.
Just because a member has been banned (for any reason at all) doesn't mean that didn't do legitimate deals before that the reciever of the rep deserves to keep after the giver has been banned.

It was suggested before, by me. It wasn't denied, it was put in pending.
And I disagree.
Our reputation system is based off opinions; those who can't get along end up with some sketchy reputation, and giving it as well. People that don't get along typically also don't last long as part of this community.
Once a member is banned, they are no longer a representation of this community. Reputation, the collective opinions of all members within a community, should not be an accumulation of our banned members' opinions.
The OP not only didn't check for past suggestions, but also did a very poor job stating why this suggestion should be implemented, but that shouldn't mean it shouldn't be implemented.
I strongly disagree with this post. To comment on what Justis said, they may no longer have a representation of this community, but at one point those opinions were still valid. If I dealt with a user who was later banned but they repped me for a good deal done (or whatever else it may be), that's still valid for my own reputation. It's unfair to take that from people who fairly earn their reputation only to lose it because someone gets banned. There's a reason when a user is banned we don't delete their posts, reactions, signatures, or any of it. Mick has stated that they don't want to do that as those posts could still be valuable and what not, same would go for the reputation.
Now I do feel that if a banned user negative reps you for something rather silly you should be able to get it instantly removed, but if it's like "Took weeks to deliver a product and was very bad at communication", which would be something important for others to be aware of, it should remain valid. Period.
Edit: Another point to make. We also let banned users come on here temporarily to make scam reports and properly get justice for themselves, even if they themselves may have scammed or hacked someone or whatever. We can't just all of a sudden treat them like they're pieces of trash to be thrown to the curb. Their opinions still matter and they're still people, we just have to remove them to prevent further harm potentially caused by them.
