"Vouch" ..?

Really bad title.. but anyways.

Make it so you can't get vouches/vouch for people for giving you something for free.

It's really misleading to new members. I won't point out people.. but people having been giving things out for free and asking for vouches in return which isn't okay because some people have like 20 of these vouches which will "trick" new members into thinking they must be trust worthy. Now this isn't ratings/etc its literally people posting on your profile/thread/whatever "Vouch user blah blah".

Getting vouches is the whole point of doing services for free, to gain trust to the rest of the community...

A vouch is nothing more then sharing your (positive)experience with someone to other people.

You seem to be contradicting the purpose you just claimed to have understood.

Perhaps you could give an example of a situation in which you think a vouch is underserved and misleading.

yeah i dont remember my logic on that post as i said it was like 6 am and i was dead tired

anyways.

I mean how people have been opening up threads to "sell" stuff.. and just giving the item out as a vouch copy to just about everyone but ask for a vouch on profile or how people make threads giving out stuff yet ask for vouches. Shouldn't get a vouch when you are giving free stuff out

You've just described a vouch copy.

If you can give out a free copy of something to a bunch of users, you are obviously able to sell one to somebody.
That's the point of vouch copies.
If people are getting more vouches than you, due to their giveaways, maybe you need to host more yourself.
You're much more likely to get people wanting your junk if you price it for free.

afaik, this site doesn't have a vouch system, it's a common misconception. That kinda makes the mere foundation of your rule suggestion invalid.

Why are all the suggestions here rule suggestions? Staff are (or should be) more than capable of doing that.

No... I don't want vouch copies removed lol. I just think it should be limited sorta? 1-2 vouch copies for a thing is fine but when its like 10-20 people.. its just not needed.

It's entirely up to the seller, I don't see what your problem with it is. Vouch copies prove they could provide the service, so why would they need to scam if they already do it for free to a few people.
Every vouch is pretty much saying that they had a good transaction, if the seller wishes to waive the price tag with a vouch, that is there choice. They aren't making money from vouchers, only rep. If you want as many vouches as them go ahead and give vouch copies?

I don't understand this either. We are able to change so much and yet all suggestions we get involve rule changes indeed.

That being said, 'vouches' are highly overrated anyways. People gave me vouches in the past just because I had a nice conversation with them. It's stupid and shouldn't be looked at too much before approaching someone for a deal.

A vouch is good if someone explains their experience with someone. Just screaming "VOUCH!" is not a legitemate vouch to my opinion..

There should be a format for giving a vouch, so people take this more seriously, something saying why are you vouching? rate their skills? pros? cons? something solid.
