So the rule "1.8.3 Do not vouch on a product/service thread unless you have purchased that product/service. User vouches should be done via the reputation system." is kinda stupid asf. I vouched on a user on his thread and the post was edited and the vouch was removed. I was vouching for the user since he's a good user and he deserves a vouch but the rule says "UNLESS YOU HAVE PURCHASED THAT PRODUCT/SERVICE" well on an *OG ACCOUNT* thread you can't really purchase it? You should be able to +1 (vouch) somebody on an OG THREAD account

No.
User vouches should be done via the reputation system.
Use the reputation system.

There's way too much vouch flooding on account threads, and far too much post farming.

If you want to vouch a user, use the reputation system; that's what it's there for.

Yes, but if somebody has already left a rep then they should be able to vouch?

If you've already left a positive rep, then you've already said what you need to say.
If not, you can always go back and edit the reputation you've given them, or add a comment to it and further express your love and devotion to that user.

But vouching them every single time they create a new thread to sell their stuff is not what we want to encourage here.
Thus the vouching limitation, to only those products/services which you yourself have purchased.

There's no point in having 20 posts with "Vouch" on a user's thread. If someone wants to see how reputable a user is, they can simply click their profile and look at their reputation.

Then maybe do it so there can only be 1-2 vouches on a thread, and it's like first come first serve. Cause those 1-2 vouches can mean a lot. Yeah I understand a shit ton of pages, but 1-2 won't harm it.

I would be for this as this rule is kinda annoying. A lot of people don't use the reputation system but rather just vouch on that user's thread for a specific product or service. Someone's general vouches don't necessarily apply to what that user is posting then and there. Maybe limit it to a few instead?

Vouch on decisions slab makes.

jk

This shouldn't be allowed, a +rep on his profile (or even a vouch on his profile page) are sufficient. There is no need for a post with 10 vouches+ in it.

If we don't encourage spam vouching, can we do the same for de-vouching?

Uh, i like what the moderators/administrators of the site have inputted here, but
1. I cannot add reputation for some reason(to other members of the site)

2. If i cannot vouch on a thread, that means i can leave no reputation.
Your account must be a month old before you can rep our members.
This is to protect the community against possible abuse from new members who don't consider themselves to be a part of the community.
If you feel this should be decreased, go ahead and make a new suggestion thread, because it's a bit off topic from this one.
