This is not really a suggestion for the website, but more for the users. So recently, I've been seeing a ton of threads that say "gimme this for free and i'll give u a vouch", which in my eyes, completely destroys the use of vouches. They are meant to prove someone as legit, however if you give someone something for free, there's no risk involved in that, not proving any way how the seller is legit.
Thanks for reading, and yes, I know this would be extremely hard/impossible to implement. I'm just saying that vouches aren't really used how they're supposed to be used.

So you want to change the philosophy of a bunch of 13 year olds that came here from hack forums? I don't see how MC Market's administration can help you with that. There's nothing they can do but obliterate the vouches system altogether, and they've done that (in fact, to my knowledge, they never had a vouches system).. Any 'vouches' in a post mean as much as the testimonials section on a website (in case you didn't know, testimonials sections are also fake!! surprise!!).

You clearly didn't read the thread.
I usually don't, but let me read it again:

It's even more funny how... you really don't mention a suggestion at all in that. You just rant about vouches and then say it would be impossible to implement, yet you suggested nothing? lol?

Well, the suggestion might've not been explicit, but it was meant to be to change how people see vouches.

THERE IS NO SUGGESTION

I don't know what part of that you don't get. In my first reply I thought you wanted vouches to be banned or something. But after your cheeky comment to suggest I didn't read your thread (which I didn't) I see there is literally no suggestion, and you come back and quote me a few words saying, essentially: "I have a suggestion" being your suggestion. What's wrong with humanity people?

So your job, my friend, is to come up with a suggestion and edit your first post to incorporate your suggestion. Because, unfortunately, none of us here can mind read.

Here is the logic behind offering something for free in exchange for a vouch, as you do not seem to understand.

Vouches (supposedly) prove a service is legit, thus a new member (or any member for that matter) can offer vouch copies in exchange for their product they would usually charge for. They can deem who they give the "vouch copy" to and if the product is as described, the user receiving it would give them a vouch so other users know it is legit.

Well, the actual logic is marketing exploitation. Kids look at it and think "omg, so many vouches, must be a good product" when you offer "vouch copies" the user is inclined to leave a "vouch", and most do, so this leads to a "vouch" which leads to the "omg, so many vouches" effect, leading to sales, leading to more "vouches", leading to more sales.

In effect, vouches is a childish term for a testimonial, but regardless of that, it's an effective way to generate sales. It's a marketing tactic and nor a vouch nor a testimonial should even budge your decision to buy or not at all. A case study from a large corporation is a good example of a testimonial, but otherwise, they're all fake trash.

You welcome for the education on marketing tactics. Essentially, ignore every last word said by the seller that is intended to persuade you. Use 3rd party reviews to make your decision, and filter in at least 20 of them if possible.
