Eh, you could argue that if you're the only VPS on the system, then it's not being shared, although you just don't have access to the rest of the allocated resources. They're always shared.
Hosting a Minecraft Server could I host a website aswell at the same time?Eh, you could argue that if you're the only VPS on the system, then it's not being shared, although you just don't have access to the rest of the allocated resources.
Supreme, back to your question, the choice between a dedi and a VPS is really based upon your usage for it. If you're trying to run an entire Minecraft Network from a 4GB VPS, you're gonna have a bad time. On the other hand, if you're just running a web / mail server, then there's not too much value in buying an overpowered dedicated server.
S u p r e m e, could you confirm what you want to use it for?

okay, could you link me them? It's going to be more than just my friends, Thanks so much for the help guys though! If it's a small server for you and your friends, and a website, then a 4-8GB VPS would be perfect. Alternatively, if it's for more people, you could look at 16GB VPS's or small 32GB dedi's. I'd personally reccomend ELHostingServices, as they're fantastic.

If it's more than just friends, say ~30-50 people, their performance v3 or performance v4 are probably the area you'll want to look at.
?colo > all
but what are you gonna do on it?
colo is where you rock up with your own hardware to a datacenter, but they provide cooling and internet and stuff. (to my understanding)ok![DOUBLEPOST=1505442632][/DOUBLEPOST]

What is the difference from me just getting a server from like beastnode or somethingColo (short for colocation) is where you purchase a server outright and send it to a datacentre who deal with it on your behalf. I only recommend that people colocate when they have at least 2 servers since the upfront cost + fairly high monthly cost isn't very efficient.
