Hello,

I'm looking for what the best or most common VPS hosting specs are. Please let me know where to get the specs from and how may clients I could host. Also think about the extra IPs cost.

Kind Regards,
Harrison R

that are the normal prices and normal specs!

people like you are the reason I don't like business accounts on this forum...

He asked for what common hosting specs were, not your advertisement. That could almost certainly be considered a thread trash.

Hello!

It all depends on your requirements and budget. If your looking to host the maximum amount of clients, then I would recommend checking out a dual E5-2670 with 128GB RAM+, which would cost around $225-$300. If you are looking for something that is better performance for a lower amount of clients, and a more affordable price, look for an E3-12XXv2/3/4/5/6 paired with 32GB RAM, this would cost anywhere from $70-120.

Hope this helps!

I personally offer VPS hosting using E5-2660's. (128GB RAM + Dual E5-2660). The E5-2670 that a lot of people use, is slightly better due to the higher clock speed, however it also does have a significantly higher TDP. Therefore the additional power draw from both CPU's will result in higher colocation costs. Making the E5-2660 cheaper to run and buy. The node I have cost just just over $1,000, with 2 x 480GB SSD's and a 2TB HDD for backups.

That's if you go down the colocation route though, which I would recommend. It costs a lot more upfront, but colocation is usally alot cheaper than renting a server. So you have lower running costs.
