It's really annoying. It normally locks your account for a little bit, so I suggest not changing your cape a few times a day.

Logging in with your Minecraft account on Optifine.net to change your cape risks your account. Optifine logs into your account to verify it is really you (which is fine), except for the fact that it logs in under a IP other than your own.

If you login to change your cape too many times in a short period of time on Optifine you will end up getting Mojang to send you a automated email to reset your password and will change your password for you.If you get a email sent to you multiple times to reset your password Mojang will lock your account.

What you can do:
- Best thing you can do is to never change your OF cape.
- Before changing your Optifine cape log off for 10 mins, change your cape, wait 10 mins, logon.
- Do not change your cape multiple times in a short period of time, and if the login to Optifine.net is not working do not spam it.

This is not Optifines fault, I don't think there is anyway Optifine can get around this, just be careful.

Sounds like someone compromised your account, since Mojang does not change a username, unless it's a swear word.

It might have been caused by logging in multiple times in a short span on Optifine, it might not have been though.

I know another Mineplex staff member who got his account logged by Optifine for over a week, and it was in fact locked for suspicion of it being compromised. He almost got screwed over by not having TID, but luckily he was able to answer the questions they ask.

Yea, had the same thing happen to me on a old account. Realized people probably don't know about this so I want everyone to be aware.

Can confirm, a lot of people say "locked" over anything but in this case I've experienced it myself but thankfully it was a worthless account.

If you log in with too many different IPs, you'll get an email saying something like your password was reset due to suspicion of it being compromised. If it happens a few more times in the future and results in that email, the account gets soft-deleted. Trying to log in will say "Account Deleted".

What you described sounds like they may have made it even more strict. Which I wouldn't be surprised because they added more security features like preventing you from reusing previously used passwords as instagram does as well as not letting you make mojang accounts on personal domains anymore.

Yep, got my main old account locked, which had over 2k in ranks.

You can contact mojang to unlock it, I logged in several times with a VPN (yeah pretty stupid) and Mojang locked it, they unlocked it but they said that was the first and the last time they would do it.

Most people want a Minecon cape instead, except it's expensive and if you want one on your dream account they are very very hard to find.
