Right before summer of 2016, I quit Minecraft for a bit. Because of this, I sold my account.

In September 2016 I decided to come back, but I didnt have a Minecraft account to play on, so I tried buying one on here. (Pretty sure this was allowed before I quit) and I got 2 warning points. I have had this warning for almost a year now and it is annoying when I see my warnings and I have one that was a dumb mistake from a year ago.

Warning points should have a set expiration instead of being stuck on your account forever so if you make mistakes you're bound to get suspended.

I got the same warning points but it was cause I was talking about buying a semi og in the shoutbox off someone and the account wasn't in the semi og section.

Can other users view your warnings? I don't see the deal if it isn't bothering anyone else. If it is just a "stupid" warning from a year ago try messaging a mod or Mick to get it removed? You might get better results.

Expirations would be better and a lot easier to do, instead of having to make a support request you simply just wait. Other users can not see your warning points bt eventually you will get suspended for having too many.[DOUBLEPOST=1500874278][/DOUBLEPOST]
+3 warning points for asking for reactions

jkjk I agree on this, although major offences should remain permanent.
Major offenses usually are not warnings. Usually straight suspensions or bans.

There are already expirations for lower offense rules.
The ones that don't expire are meant to not expire.
They're not hurting anyone. They're there to ensure that if you violate those rules again, it's not treated as if it was your first offense.
Typically people learn from their 'stupid' mistakes.
If you don't, then that'll add up and you'll be suspended. That's why those that remain do.

Yes, but the problem isnt that people will end up doing the same thing, its that they might do other things which will lead to a suspension. Staff could keep note of warnings and instead of treating it like their first offense they would get more warning points.

I'm not certain going around violating a dozen or so different rules is necessarily worse than violating the same rule a dozen times.
Each rule is given a specific amount of warning points pertaining to their seriousness when violated.
Yes, they're supposed to add up.
Whether you're violating the same one, or rule after rule after rule.

If you can't learn to read the rules page, and come to staff with clarifications on any questions you may have, you'll be in trouble.

I have 1 warning point for necroposting, it was like over a year ago. I made a mistake because I was browsing through the threads and replied on one without looking at the date. It still bothers me a lot, wish I could get it removed. I agree with you.

Right, but do you think trying to buy a Minecraft account is serious enough to be a permanent warning point?

I have two 1 point warnings for low quality posting.
1 from over a year ago, 1 from two years ago.

I think if people actually learn from their mistakes, it doesn't matter when the expiry is or if there is none.

I think it's quite funny how I have a warning point for something that is allowed and yet the warning point doesn't expire...
