Hello MC-M users and Staff reading.

My suggestion is regarding unowned content in resources.

The current rule is: Do not publish unowned content if found 20 warning points.

Here is the Warning points: 6.6 Resource Contains Unowned Content: 20 | N/A

I believe the warning points awarded for unowned content should be able to expire in say 365 days or two years (Up to staff)

I have received 20 warning points before, by accidentally adding an unowned config from a user that was sorted out but the warning points will never expire.

Now in regard to adding expire date. Down below I will lost cons and pro's

Pro's

- Users that have served the punishment, 2 weeks and 1/2 with these warnings points should be able to have it removed as it can lead to longer suspensions in the future if another less "important" rules are broken, like low quality posts etc. (Rule are important)
- Users can have a clean slate after time served
- Users can lower their warning points and stay in the community after they served their punishment.
- It just doesn't make sense to keep it.

Con's
- Unreputable users will abuse this system yearly
- Will create a path for users to try and bypass it.

Regardless I do believe users that sort out these issues with the content owners should be able to have the points removed or add an expire date with it.

Thanks for reading.

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

This is a marketplace, and ultimately, our goal is to protect content creators and provide them the safest possible environment to post their content, and protect their rights from others who might encroach upon them.

That is why this warning, and the other four related marketplace/contest rules are worth 20 points, the second highest point value. Second only to posting malware and advertising a competitor; and intentionally malicious malware results in a ban.

If you've taken a look at our warning wiki: https://www.mc-market.org/wiki/warnings/
You'll see that it is the smaller warnings that expire, and larger warnings do not.

This is because, as your suggestion has already pointed out, if you continue to violate our rules later in your stay on MC-Market, the punishments WILL build up, you will not get to repeatedly violate rules and then end up with 0 active warning points in the end.
People are held responsible for their actions for as long as they use this site. From beginning to end.

If you do not feel you are mature enough to handle that responsibility currently, you are free to leave the site and come back when you're more confident in your ability to avoid violating our rules and other people's rights, and collecting warning points.

All that said, I have been considering going over all of our warning point values and expirations again, as well as increasing the amount of warnings which expire; however, if more expiries are included, posting unowned content without right would likely be among the last few to see this change.

I believe that we should go over the warning points again and consider if there are any more warning points that we could make expire in the future just so that when you get points you're not guaranteed to get banned eventually.

I'll move this to pending so I remember about having this discussion, thank you for the suggestion.
