Hey all!

This is not intended as a negative comment to all web developers on here, I just want to give a heads up to the (website) buyers.

So listen out, I know there are a lot of talented web devs on here who do backend and that's fine. But I'd like to ask you if you would trust the not so talented (or beginners rather) with the backend of your site.

I ask you this because the backend could be full of security leaks, yes security is a very important topic. Your website may work as you wish, but if a hacker can take it down or get administrator permissions, you may as well not have the website.

Quick reminder: I don't want to flame any web developer on here, I just wanted to give the buyer a heads up. I recommend carefully picking out your web devs on mc-market or if you're really serious about your business, you could get a (real) company to make your site.

I hope this helped some buyers confirm or reconsider their choices

Injections and end point misuse are pretty fundamental when it comes to web development and any developer with half a brain should know what they should and shouldn't do. You definitely don't want to deal with one that slaps together a backend in 5 minutes and says it's safe.

Working with a company or a professional web developer is basically the same.
A company will over-charge you, but usually your information is shared to a huge amount of people.

Freelancers should get more of it, Trusting a backend developer is fine as long AS YOU are concerned about security, You have to get your databases and servers properly set up.

They are indeed the same, I just suggest the client asks some questions about security before he/she pays a part of the budget.[DOUBLEPOST=1574546710][/DOUBLEPOST]

I totally agree, although injection (I'm talking about sql here) is pretty basic to deal with, other problems do need enough attention. A secure framework is a very good start but if the developer doesn't know how a hacker hacks/what he/she is doing, chances are the developer will still leave security leaks.
