Alright, so lately the OG account section is full of a lot of crappy Semi-OG's so I thought of a suggestion to fix this. It's annoying to try and go find a nice OG, and see a bunch of Semi-OG's. Same goes the other way if you have a small budget, and see a bunch of expensive super OG's. This suggestion will fix both issues.

Suggestion:
Create a Semi-OG sub section within the accounts section. This will make it more organized for people who want cheaper Semi-OG's, or they want real super OG's. This way if someone posts a Semi-OG in the OG section, someone can report it and a staff member can transfer it to the Semi-OG section.

I'm not sure how you all will think of this idea, so please vote in the poll and /or comment with how you feel about this idea.

Really? To me it sounds like he cares about the community, and wants it to get better, and have less scams.
This forum would be nothing without the accounts section. I know that I wouldn't be here at all, and there are many others that would say the same.

Agreed, the Account section is in fact the largest section on this forum by a colossal amount and is what brings in most users.

To put it into perspective look at the messages

Accounts - 158k
Builds - 80k
Servers - 60k
Plugins - 34k
Other - 16k
Domains - 13k
Resource Threads - 3k

Those above are just the marketplace sections. The other sections aren't even comparable other than the entire general discussion section which has 75k and is barely half of what the accounts section has.

Also regarding the "more scams" part mentioned earlier, of course there'll be more scams. Do you have more crime in a large city or a small city? The more people there are the more scams there will be. We have plenty of things to prevent scams, so the most common way people get scammed is due to their own stupidity (dealing with new shady users, skype impersonation etc) Since I made my guide, I've noticed even new users have been asking for mclaim proof, and it seems like people are becoming informed well.

Basically, removing the accounts section would pretty much cause a large drop in traffic, halving the site's activity level and be a gain to competitor forums to race to be the #1 minecraft account selling forum. All these plugin/build sellers or whatever have no say in this as they have no clue how the account market works and how easy it is to not get scammed.

I think the main issue would be those people that think their 'Semi-OG' is OG and vice versa.
Even though the sections exist, there is still user error to be considered.
None the less I still highly enjoy this idea. :)
I can see what you're saying, although there is controversy over pretty much anything anymore, staff would have to make the decision. Even if this would mean hiring another staff member or two, I think it would be worth it. As Doge said most of the most reputable people on this site are OG sellers. Taking away the OG section would lose a lot of people, and it would be greatly different.[DOUBLEPOST=1455625650,1455625533][/DOUBLEPOST]To add onto that, look at the poll. They say that MC-Market is based off of the community, but I've seen multiple suggestion threads with 20+ votes for the suggestion, and nothing has been done to enforce that.

a few posts now have said something along the lines of "different people have different definitions of og and semi-og".

this is wrong. an og name would be something like "hack", and a semi og would be something like "hacked" "hacker" "hacks" etc. said semi ogs are worth more than some ogs, such as "meatloaf", and a semi-og such as "meatloafs" is almost worthless. og and semi-og are defined by how original a name is, not by how much it is worth. there is no subjectivity.

that said, i dont support this for exactly what i said. semi-ogs and ogs are not price categories. they are just words. what would work is a section with accounts the OP values at X amount, and a subsection of accounts the op values below X amount. so, hypothetically, accounts worth 50$ (example number) and above would go into the main forum, and then accounts worth below 50$ TO THE OP would go into the subforum. this allows buyers to easily search within their general price range based on how much they want to spend, and at least filters the price. this also removes any shitty arbitrary definition arguments completely.
