Is it specifically money or would trading for something of value still not be allowed?
Yeah what about Bitcoins for example?
Is it specifically money or would trading for something of value still not be allowed?

true, arkham has been doing well on the eula thing for a while now.
And yes, you can't sell it directly. What you can do is have a system that makes it easier to obtain a currency, provided that you cannot use that currency to influence gameplay significantly.
not really with ranks, but all players do indeed need to get the effects of it.If the items are used for more than cosmetics, then it's not allowed.[DOUBLEPOST=1457115519][/DOUBLEPOST]
It can't influence gameplay at all, it doesn't matter how insignificant you think it is.
If one person buy's a rank, then the whole server has to get rank.
That's what makes Arkham's idea so good.
Arkham's idea: When you purchase keys, everyone gets a key, which means everyone gets a chance to win a rank or some other item.
The most important part of their idea is that you can't trade or giveaway your keys.
It's a very simple idea.

Which is why things like arkham's key are a good idea. as well as server-wide coin and/or xp boosts.
I got that, thanks. The player's that did not pay real money for their key and got it because someone else purchased the key in the server store has to have the same chance to win the same things that the paying player has or it's breaking the eula.
You can't give the paying customer "Key A" that can win ranks and then give all the other players keys that can't win ranks but could win other things. (this breaks the eula, it has to be an equal chance for the same things)
I still fail to see how it is server owner's faults that they are charging outrageous prices.
You should be blaming your kid if they used your credit card to buy items. If you raised your kid to be a spoiled bitch, then you should expect them to do you dirty. That's theft and if my kid did anything like that I would seriously rethink what I have raised my child to be at that point in time.
At the time of the EULA being added, not many servers even supported Stripe, so this means that these children that made their parents so upset must've had their credit card for more than just a few minutes, and some must've even had the help of their parents to verify PayPal accounts(or at least their help in the creation of it).
Tip #1: Don't give your credit card to your kid.
Tip #2: Don't put your credit card in an obvious location. If they aren't bright enough to understand how money works, then they probably aren't tall enough to reach the top shelf of your dresser.
Tip #3: Don't be a fucking oblivious parent. You more than likely know what is possible on the internet, so why don't you pay closer attention to your fucking child before they hurt themselves/you.
smh.
I got that, thanks.
how'd you think that'd work with the XP boost? everyone gets x2 to all xp they gain? it would vary for the amount of things people did, but it would not change the balance of power, as I'll call it.
Or, to put it in more brutal ways, the grace period is over and it is time for the slaughter to begin. The Eula was never added, or updated, they just put more effort into making sure everyone understood what the Eula meant by providing better explanation.
It has always been from the beginning that you couldn't monetize your servers with p2w items, period.
Sorry, enforce it.
It wasn't enforced before the complaints.
It's the parents fault that the kids are easily getting access to their credit cards.
They didn't enforce before parents made a big deal.
The kid is a retard, not the company/people milking it.
Point being?
Unless you're a fundamental part of the cause, then they're not going to do anything about you.
They won't pursue you if you're not making x amount off donations, and don't bullshit me into saying "oh my gawsh they will sue evry1 dey dont car about court cost!!2q1"(cause that isn't true).
The only issue I could really see is if this whole "block IPs from connecting" was an actual issue, and if it ultimately IS a real thing, the client is easily decompiled and you can implement a bypass to play.Well, maybe. I'm not sure if it's legit, and if it is, how it would be bypassed. Cracked Minecraft possibly. Or just change how it checks. Like if it's a table or something.
There's literally nothing they can do to stop you. Big servers are only complying since their owner's are worth pursuing if they don't listen, and a good majority won't find it worth the time to download a bypass unless they are an avid player in the community.
You do make a valid point, Im not sure, but if yes bye bye Archon.
Yeah as long as it only contains cosmetic things or priority access to a server.there are still enough ways to give 1 player a rank while not violating the EULA though
Feel free to write them here hahanope, enough other ways =)
