What are other ways to grow the server then paying youtubers?

Advertising is the key to grow your server. Any other method of growing your server is bull shit, and shouldn't be trusted (e.g. Spamming your IP on Mineplex or Hypixel. Don't do that.).

Now, what are the ways to advertise:
1. YouTubers: YouTubers are the most common method, and typically bring the most growth. If you have a high budget, you can get one large YouTuber or multiple smaller YouTubers. Low budget is perfectly fine, just target YouTubers under 50k.

2. Discord: Another growing method with the growth of Discord is doing Discord Invite Competitions. Essentially, for every x amount of invites a user gets, they get a prize (Buycraft, PayPal, in-game rank, etc). This encourages players to invite people to your Discord, and then the people invited invite others. Works quite well if you have good prizes.

3. Server List: You can purchase ad slots on server lists, but typically this is only useful if you already have a pre-established playerbase. If you think an ad slot is your best bet, but you have a low playerbase (Under 50), you can attempt to spoof, but make sure it's a good Spoofer, not some free Spigot one. Spoofing is looked down upon the server community, but is beneficial when used correctly.

These are just the most common ways and are proven effective.

Every YouTuber differs. I know some 5k YouTubers who do trailers for $15 and episodes for $40. Then others do trailers for $5 and episodes for $15. Recommended budget is roughly $100 for low advertising.

Totally how advertising work. Just create a good product and expect it to grow without anything. You need to advertise to give it the initial boost, then word of mouth comes into play. If advertising was that easy, you wouldn't see companies spending thousands on commercials.
