Hello everyone!

it has come to my attention that a lot of scam reports have something in common, what could this be? Well it’s usually always “my PayPal got hacked”, “my brother did that” or something else. Now some occasions this might be true and I’m not saying that it isn’t possible or is a lie.

How not to get hacked:
If your concerned that you might be vulnerable and worried that you’ll get hacked and get a scam report here’s a few things to do before hand

If your using PayPal or anything similar always have 2FA On! I know some people don’t like the extra step but this really puts a good shield around your PayPal or other, pick a Strong password! Don’t use things like for example “pretxelspassword123” as it can be brute forced easily.

why are you talking about this?
Why I’m telling everyone is that this is becoming very common which in the end is sad to see, a lot of good people lose money or services due to someone’s “PayPal hacked” or “someone’s bother/sister charging back” know I don’t want to point figures as this can be a serious topic.

I believe that people need to just be more cautious about their accounts as they can be the most valuable.

Sibling chargeback:
If you have sold something and somehow a sibling charges back, 1) why is your sibling able to access your PayPal and 2) why does your sibling care?

addressing number one, if you sibling knows your password I’d recommend you change it.

addressing number two, if you have a shared account for some reason I’d definitely suggest talking with the other person before selling or buying something.

What do I do if I’m hacked?
If you where hacked best option would be to change your bank login details or password to have PayPal remove your linked bank due to the credentials changing, if your cards linked, contact PayPal and have them remove it and deactivate the account.

chargebacks
Chargeback can be very harmful and I suggest never charging back if you don’t have to.

when it’s okay to chargeback: your account got hacked and a unauthorized transaction happened. (Some exceptions for certain scenarios)

when it’s not okay to chargeback: when a user has provided the given product/item or when you have purchased something via the market.

before even considering charging back talk to the person sometimes your able to make a agreement.

Scamming:
Scamming is a terrible thing to do and I’m high against it, if you really look at scamming your only going to get one person and then that’s it, word will spread and you’ll never be able to make or do something due to you have a bad rep even if your trying a legit product.

now instead of scamming try actually doing it and gaining rep and growing a business, it’s a lot more easy and in the long run is more beneficial.

conclusion:
Now a lot of this is common knowledge and a lot of people won’t care but personally I felt this was a topic that needed to be talked about, we live in a world that is advancing in good and bad.
