Hello,

I have a network that is in development. I am looking for a free web developer that could possibly setup a professional site/forums? Could anyone help me with this? We are of a good site, we just don’t have any money and are looking for invidiuals with the proper knowledge and time. I know, it seems unrealistic but I thought I'd just share this just in case someone has the free time to help me with this :)

Starting a network with no money and no experience to even setup forum software?

I sure hope you're going to be using PHPBB3 and not illegal, 'nulled' copies of paid forum software, for one.

You seem inexperienced. Don't start a network, waste your time and annoy people who put in effort.

Lol, we are using a VPS. We don't have to pay money for hosting. Also, no we aren't looking for "nulled/illegal" software. Also, judging from your response to this thread, you clearly don't understand what i'm asking for.

Nobody said anything about hosting. Also, I think I do...

A VPS isn't free, btw.

from what you are saying in your 1st response no xD. It's not a big deal, i'm just asking for someone that is up to this, no need to put others peoples threads into a negative aspect.

I think the point Overlord is getting at is that you won't get a professional site for free, simply put.
Well, I knew I would receive responses like these. However, it isn't really necessary for input like this (since it's pretty obvious). Like I said in the post, I create this post "just incase".

Well, Enjin is free and still very useful today.
mccentral.org
mineplex.com
etc.
Yes, enjin is free. However, for a network it isn't very efficient. Also, yes of course some major networks use it but i'm looking for something more. Thanks for the reply though.

You could always install Apache onto your VPS and host a forum from there. I'll give you a run through the commands below, if you're still not quite sure (for CentOS at least):

sudo yum install httpd php-common mysql-server
service httpd start
mysql_secure_installation
*run through the MySQL setup, it's pretty self explanatory*
service httpd restart

Your web files will be located at /var/www/html
If you're inclined to use Ubuntu or anything similar, replace yum with apt-get. I believe the package names are the same.[DOUBLEPOST=1451639593,1451639553][/DOUBLEPOST]Within the web files, you could just upload phpBB or (my personal favourite) Vanilla forums and run through their handy installation scripts.

Unfortunately I'm not very experienced with Ubuntu :p However the basic principles are the same.
If you need a good resource to find guides, try looking on DigitalOcean:

https://www.digitalocean.com/commun...install-and-secure-phpmyadmin-on-ubuntu-14-04
For example, this guide helps you to setup PhpMyAdmin. A tool which I undoubtedly think you'll find extremely useful, especially when you're managing databases and if you plan on storing your permissions in a database.

How did I know I would get a response like this? Or, what you could do is get off this thread if your just going to repeat the obvious.

I'd be happy to do this for you for free! I need material for my portfolio anyway. Add me on Skype and we can talk (in my profile). :)
