High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

If we were to do this, we would need to create a png/jpg alternative version to display to all of MC-Market’s Safari and iOS Safari web browsing users (not to mention IE and other niche browsers with uncertain support availability). Which means we’re only costing ourselves additional storage space and the development time necessary to distinguish which browser the user is on and serve them the correct image format.

None of our ads are large in size. The load time difference between our ads in WebP format vs PNG is so insignificant, no human would ever feel a difference. There’s just no reason for us to go through the effort of allowing a format which doesn’t have universal adoption, when the universal options available already serve all of our needs.

It was more for the use of Animated WebP, it holds an advantage over the Gif format, in terms of: Size, RGB space and playback length.

In addition it would be on the advertiser to understand the consequence of using WebP as a format, I'd happily use WebP as the proportion of people who use Macs and iPhones isn't my target market, But I understand the reticence to adopt it.

Would you reconsider once Apple adds support? Internet explorer is already deprecated and support everywhere is good.

Safari is currently the second most used web browser. So that’s quite the sum of viewers you’d be cutting out.
Yes, I would be willing to reconsider my position if and once Safari supports it.
