I am YouHaveTrouble, and this is my attempt at the cringiest introduction thread known to mankind.
Let's rewind and start about 2.5 years ago, while I was still in technical school for IT. Although it was an IT class, 99% of people there had no idea what was going on and we never did anything cool. When the final exams came, I realised I can't even begin to think what I'll do in life, so I decided to start my own minecraft server. About a week later my first ever server came to be. It was small anarchy server, since I figured I won't need to do much on it as an admin. Oh boy, what a mistake that was. I have a lot of funny stories about that server, maybe I'll take the time sometime to tell them somewhere. The server was not the best, and I quickly realised it requires more time than I anticipated. Also, it wasn't that popular, as it topped 10-12 people max. I decided it's not enough, so I started workin on a skyblock server. It was about the time when 1.13 was announced, so I decided on current latest version, which was 1.12. That server was *way* more popular than the first one and it quickly started hitting player cap of 40 (it was on a crappy shared host, so that was the best I could do). This server was even bigger learning experience than the first one, as this time I needed to actually take care of dupes and cheaters. It's worth noting that I got realy good at configuring the plugins, but did not make my own stuff at this point. First completely original idea I made reality was datapack that added custom item currency and a few villager vendors for that currency. Next step in my journey was the announcement of 1.14 with all the datapack and resourcepack changes. When I started working on the next skyblock server, it was not yet known 1.14 will have huge problems with chunk loading, so when I learned about that I was about 75% done with it, so I decided to go with it anyway, what can go wrong? This iteration of skyblock relied heavily on server resourcepack and skript. Resourcepack was forced onto the players and skript was used to add functionality of added items (CustomModelData is dope). Somwhere areound that time I got approached by a guy on facebook, he wanted to make oldschool-style hunger games tournament and have it streamed and commented like an e-sport. I've written entire hunger games system from scratch in skript. This was probably the moment I first thought I'll need to get into plugins, because that was pure hell. Tournament went well, there were a few things that I needed to hotfix because they were not tested properly, but nothing major. The second edition of the tournament, skywars was held on 1.15.2 release, went even better than first one! Now we're starting to catch up with recent events. For sure you probably heard about "the vatican minecraft server". If not, let me fill you in. In december 2019 vatican priest named Robert R. Ballecer started a minecraft server which goal is to be non-toxic chill enviroment for everyone to play together. Why am I talking about that? I'm an admin there, offered my help to configure the server and select plugins, now working on updating those servers to 1.15. While working on that server I learned quite a lot about networking and keeping the servers safe from all kinds of attacks. I also have met people there who pushed me to finally create my own plugins and start to code overall. I now know java and I'm doing my first steps in web development (html5, css, js and node). After all this wall-of-text-long story you probably expect some kind of point being made or life lesson. There is none. I just thought it would be funny to waste your time with my boring life story dear reader. And that's what kind of person I am. Mic drop.
