Use PEMDAS, states that you need to solve what’s within the parenthesis first. 1+2 equals 3. Then, the parenthesis signifies multiplication, so you do 2x3=6. 6/6 equals 1. Easy.

the
2(3) can be rewritten as 2x3 so the divide would go first?

in all honesty tho, these questions are stupid.

9. I hate questions like these bc the parentheses confuse people that understand PEMDAS. I got 1 at first then realized it was a trick.
6 / 2(1 + 2)
6 / 2(3)
6 / 2 * 3 The P in PEMDAS does not mean distribute first! Multiply normally, left to right.
3 * 3

Apply that to the expression 4 / 2 * 10. Do you get the answer 0.2 or 20?
4/20? P ( none ) E ( none ) M ( 2*10) D ( 4/20 ) A S.

If you look at a fraction as the true expression its (4)/(2*10)
and looks like this

4
----
2*10

I guess the moral of the story is that PEMDAS is your friend! :)
