What anti cheat should I use?

No its not. Not trying to be that guy but... spartan is the worst premium anti cheat out there.

Sharing the concept / genre your server falls into may give more insight to people advising you. Something like vulcan can generally be a solid / stable choice when it comes to cheating solutions.

Me and a friend are trying to host a lava rising event and the target audience are Hypixel pit players (a lot of whom are probably cheaters).
I already have Vulcan and I am using it as the main anti cheat, I was asking about a second anti cheat just as a second layer of protection. But if there is another anti cheat I could use as my primary which would be better I would be open to that too.

I am not super up-to-date with anti cheating solutions nowadays but I couldn't imagine you'll run into many issues running vulcan as the sole solution?

What base version are you using?

The server version is 1.8.8 and only 1.8.8 players are allowed to connect (I haven't tested with other versions and I am not educated on if Vulcan is safe to use on multiple versions without false flagging)

Don't really care if it's free, I just want an anti cheat that does a decent job and at least from what I've seen Spartan aint it

This cant be real. There are a good amount of falses, also don't get me started on the developer of the anti cheat. Its not practical for large servers. Optimization wise there are way lighter anti cheats out there. Polar ac has the lightest movement checks... there movement checks don't even use any resources from your machine, ha.
