What are the best (and cheapest) ways to gain Minecraft players?

Looking to grow my network, but not interested in bidding on a slot. Does anyone know of any ways to gain real players (not discord users from giveaways). Slots are way out of my budget, most free server-lists don't gain any players, and Discord advertisements usually don't grow your network at all. If you have any suggestions or services, feel free to message me.

Don’t make a server if you don’t have $ to advertise

Thanks for the suggestion haha, I do have money to advertise, but not willing to waste my money, you know? Most Discord advertisements usually don't bring many players, if any (In my opinion).

And slots are a pretty penny man, I doubt most server owners have the cash to rent slots. r/gatekeeping my dude.
