I was wondering, are you guys interested in making content for Hytale? Do you guys plan on making new servers? For those of you that are java developers, builders, setup creators, do you plan on bringing your skills over to this platform? Idk what I'm going to do myself yet, I have some ideas but I just want to wait and see how things go first.

I think I'm going to see how big Hytale becomes and if it stays a big game. If it is still popular after a while then I think I am going to take a look at how to make a server on there and make one. In my opinion, the game looks a lot better than Minecraft and I think it is going to be fairly popular.

im fucking sniping all the ogs ngl
when it releases watch me making 100 gmail account and going full tryhard mode
If I am correct they are going to make it so you can preregister ign's so I would look out for when that time comes because it will be before the actual release.

I'm not even sure on the customization on it. All we know is that values are changeable, but addons can't really be installed. So for Setup Specialist on Minecraft, Hytale really limits server owners. Doubt any will move over, configurating servers should be self explanatory. Hytale 'scripting' also isn't Java, it's Javascript, and a whole different API, so Spigot Developers won't be able to just come in and code amazing things. And finally, for builders, I don't exactly understand the mechanics. The trailer showed a guy copying a house into a world, so I think it's like Fortnite Creative, where you have prebuilt things and can spawn them in. But in the 'Adventure' mode, you can actually build what you want.

I don't think it'll be easy for any Minecraft workers to move into Hytale, it'll take a while. And it's extremely limited from what I've seen.

I have talked to dozens of developers and specialists and heard the exact opposite of what you're saying here--everyone plans to move over because of all the customization Hytale is supposed to have for server owners. Not saying it will, but it is supposed to be heavily customizable for server owners, more so than Minecraft. Hypixel are the ones who pushed Minecraft to its limits, I would have to presume they created Hytale so they could push farther than the limits set by Minecraft.

Cal posted an interesting thread regarding the topic. It seems Hytale could potentially be a pay-to-customize scheme. Whilst the game may be very open to modding, it seems the engine will not be open sourced thus resulting in all of this having a limit. Hytale themselves state that the main core will not be open source.

"Write and run your own in-game scripts and watch the gameworld transform around you! From players to creators, everybody benefits from the greater freedom this provides."

In order to customize the game, you will have to learn the new Hytale API, and Javascript (Assuming they use Javascript). The thing about Minecraft is that plugins are drag and drop, and requires no coding knowledge to add plugins to your game. Where as Hytale, will require coding knowledge in order to customize the game. This means creating servers will be a lot harder then just dragging and dropping, and will be what causes many Setup Specialist not to move over, because of the difficulty given to customize and add features. Custom Enchants, Mob Stacking, Envoys (Just listing some things from Minecraft) will have to be independently scripted in each and every server. Of course, I'm sure scripts will be released, but not until after a while.

Edit: And as Ghast stated, it isn't open source. You can customize what Hytale allows you to customize. With Minecraft, you can change everything using NMS, or easily change with the Bukkit API.

Interesting--Due to the holidays I personally haven't looked that in-depth at the system, just hearsay, and some minimal research. Was not yet aware of their potential pay-to-customize system, figured it would be a paid game at the most. Thanks for the information on the topic

Idk, we'll just have to see. Maybe someone will start a Spigot type platform. If you could be the first to create and market a factions clone for Hytale, you could makr bank on that alone.
