The prices, the location, the control panel, the uptime, the support and also the ability to use custom jars, not just the default ones -_-
*cough* we have spigot 1.8 too and is just 1271841 versions behind, no need to upload your own even if we say you can do it and most of the plugins don't work! *cough*

My main priority when finding a host is to ensure they have fast and good support, then of course the price and uptime.

Fast and useful support
Uptime
Not oversold (like actually gives numbers that they're not oversold. 120 people on an i7-7700k is oversold)
RAID PCIe Drives, Minecraft doesn't need a lot of storage but IOPS is good

Mostly, people look out for:
Uptime | Pricing | Support | Reviews | Hardware | DDoS Protection
Most of my clients prefer Intel i7-6700k instead of E5s o_O

Little late to the party but here's a list of the things I look for:
-Multicraft
-Daily backups
-1600mhz (more the merrier) ram frequency, preferably ddr4
-Location of host
-Subdomain/domain assitance
-Support and uptime.

For me, top three are definitely backups, ram frequency and support.

Bro read the post before you post in it don't just fucking copy and paste on every single thread you see related to hosting even if they are not in need of hosting.

I am curious what people look for in a host? What is the most important factor to you?

Well since this post got bumped by someone else, ill give my thoughts.
Not to sound cocky but I believe people look for the "Power by Dot-Tech LLC" signature in the footer of a host's site.

That seems like a reasonable thing. People trust large, reliable brands!
