i just started selling logos and while I have a pretty good idea of what people want, I always love to here others opinions.
What do people look for in server logos?

A word of advice: you want a decent-sized portfolio with a distinct style, and on this site specifically a nice looking thread also goes a long way. In terms of logos, though, it's usually just the standard stylised text with an illustration behind it - it's up to you to decide how to make it look good.
It depends on what’s popular in that moment really.
Currently my most common requests are space related or planets, Last 6 months were anything to do with floating islands with clouds or a castle. Last year it was cave entrances with pickaxes or explosions, Year before that it was whole planets or a shield with swords.
Try to push designs you enjoyed creating the most by keeping them at the top of your portfolio or featured in some way
usually if you enjoy making that specific subject matter then you’ll be more passionate about the logo and it shows. When a new project suddenly felt like a lot of fun then make that next featured logo.
