I have seen a lot of debate over this as of late, I'm wondering what do you all think of hacking in minecraft? Personally I don't really care as most servers anti-cheat's are advanced enough to counter meaningful cheats. What do you all think?

Hacking.. hacking.. No, I do not support "hacking".
For those who are not aware, the definition of hacking is to use a computer to gain unauthorized access to data in a system
e.g "they hacked into the bank's computer"
In the world of minecraft users are allowed to create modifications for their game client, regardless of what that modification may be. Mojang has not restricted or limited the types of modifications a user of their game is allowed to use and so, what we know of today as a "hacked client" is actually nothing more than a game modification built to obtain an unfair advantage.
Being as these are so widely used by pretty much everyone, I wouldn't say it's wrong to use them, but then again it's certainly not right.
I firmly believe it is wrong for any server owner to ban for the use of such modifications. These exist and everyone will use them, however some are not so good at hiding that they have these and end up on the short end whilst others thrive on them. That being said, it should be completely upto the server owners to limit what a user can do on their server. If they don't want a cheat used, they should do something about it on their side. Banning solves nothing.
My personal opinion about using unfair modifications for gameplay is that it takes the fun away from winning and you cannot have a just pride in your accomplishments if the other party did not have the same or better modification as you. I like equal grounds for my battles.

I think cheating in a game is only fun when you get bored of the game, and think cheating if the most fun you are going to have. But even then cheating is stupid.
Pros:
Fun (sometimes?)
Piss off kids
Cons:
Get banned
Ruin your reputation
People call you shit (kinda funny but annoying when spammed)
While it does kinda ruin your reputation, basically everyone does it one time or another. So it's based on how often you do it, what server you do it on, why you do it, how many people are effected, etc.

That's another things. Hacking isn't the right term, its more "cheating" but anyone can do it. Cheating on some games takes some sophistication. But on minecraft, its just downloading something, 8 times out of 10 getting ratted, and cheating on a pixelated game. But most everyone does it.
Okay my real opinion.
Don't be a fagg*t and closet cheat to make people think your good, only time I ever cheat is when I'm bored and it's all blatant, I'm not gonna be like those 12 year olds that will cheat for months on end with their stupid ass ghost clients or autoclickers.

The whole point of playing a game is to have fun, therefor cheating for fun does not mean they need help.
Yeah, closet cheaters are a different story. Blatantly cheating is in my opinion a lot more bearable than closet cheaters. It's a block game, if your not good at it, who gives 2 fucks less?
Some people may see hacking/cheating as fun are threfore does it make it still wrong? (Just throwing out thoughts)
